Keep em comin...

I call these keep em coming because I was so bored on Sunday night with nothing to do and decided that I was going to churn them out like a little jewelry making factory!

Happy Easter!

My Easter dress was a peach-ish chiffon dress with ivory crochet lace inserts.

To match I made this pendant.

But I was at H an M on Friday and bought a dress from the conscious collection so ended up wearing that instead!

with a Carved Rose lucite bangle from Forever 21.

Silver hammered pendant

As mentioned before I love to hammer.....Had not hammered in a long time so hammered away at a circular stamping disc and was wondering what to use it in.I found a white crystal type drop earring that I had never worn or know when I bought and added some amethyst chips to it.

Birthday beads

I wanted to make something special for my cousin who had a birthday on the 18th.She loves delicate jewelry and I am heavy handed and am not used to making delicate jewelry.I risked it with the thinnest silver wire I had and green stone beads

Grape beads

Made this pendant for a friend who absolutely loved it!
Dark grape colored beads with silver spacers

Re-working a necklace

I bought this necklace at a premier party. The problem I have is that it was chunky and a little too much for everyday wear so I decided to change it!

I opened up all the links and re attached the sections of chain and looped the last bit through a link that was circular

Weekend wrapping

Havent done much of anything with jewelry for a long time so this weekend was going to be filled with wrapping and wires and the like.Until the weather decided to be warm and sunny....it had to be a day filled with anything and everything to do with gardens!
I love the smell of fresh warm soil in bag...literally addicted to Miracle Gro bags of soil! And with Lowes marking it down to $2.50 a bag,I had to indulge! This is a picture of some fuchsia

Had to add a picture of my sweet dog who loves to be in the middle of it all!!!

Did do a pendant on saturday as I wanted to wear it to church on sunday
My husband said this looked like a dream catcher,I thought it looked like a beetle!

On Sunday Georgia Public Broadcasting had a special telethon on and I got to watch it while making a pendant.I found the makings for this pendant at our flea market. All at a great price! As I took pictures I noticed that one pearl has a tendancy to move away from its family, need to work on getting that fixed.

Wrapping

Wire wrapping and making a ring is easy but its hard to make each wrap and curve perfectly matched to the other side. This was made with 2o gauge gold anti tarnish wire. The purple pearl was taken out of a pair of antique earrings that were a gift and waaaayyyy too tacky for me!

The left side of the ring was spaced out wider than the right side.

My first project

I went to a jewelry show in March and bought a whole pile of jewelry and was just fascinated by the jewelry on display and every single piece was handmade. It got me thinking about how I was wasting my time in buying stuff and then changing it so it would reflect me and my personality.
Did a little research on the web and jewelry making was not that hard!
Bought some tools and some beads to get started.
I love the hammered look and I wanted to make something that was hammered and looked a little...well,rustic.
Bought this copper stamping kit set which I think is used in scrapbooking and  picked out a disc and hammered away!
The copper disc has a green stone that looks like a pepper and a gold leaf on it.
Made a hook out of copper wire and put it on a copper long chain that I had.
